What qualification/level is this course
Pre-entry and Entry level through to Level 1.

Who is this course for?
This course is for young people and adults aged 19+ with learning disabilities and/or Autism.

What can I expect to Learn?
Through interactive cooking sessions and nutritional guidance, individuals will learn essential kitchen skills, meal planning, and the importance of balanced nutrition. This course goes beyond recipes, emphasizing the connection between food, mood, and confidence, empowering participants to make healthy food choices and develop a positive relationship with cooking.

How will I learn?
Your tutor will use a number of different teaching methods to develop your skills. These will include a wide range of authentic materials, individual study, working in pairs/group activities and will include the use of video/audio.

How will I know how well I am doing?
You will follow your own individual learning plan with progress recorded by tutors and yourself. Feedback will also be given to you during the lesson..

Will I need to do extra work at home?
You will be encouraged to use the skills you have learnt in the class at home.

What will I need to provide?
You should bring an apron and a container to take home your cooking.

Are there any other costs?
You will need to bring an additional £2.50 each week to cover the cost of the ingredients which will be purchased for each learner on a weekly basis. It is more cost-effective to purchase ingredients in bulk rather than learners purchasing individually.
