Develop your independent living skills, communication, self-confidence and ability to work in a team through cooking health meals and snacks. What qualification/level is this course
Entry level through to Level 1.

Who is this course for?
Young people and adults aged 19+ with learning disabilities and/or Autism who need to improve their confidence and progress into accredited courses.

What can I expect to Learn?
Through interactive cooking sessions and nutritional guidance, individuals will learn essential kitchen skills, meal planning, and the importance of balanced nutrition. This course goes beyond recipes, emphasizing the connection between food, mood, and confidence, empowering participants to make healthy food choices and develop a positive relationship with cooking.

How will I learn?
Your tutor will use a number of different teaching methods to develop your skills. These will include a wide range of authentic materials, individual study, working in pairs/group activities and will include the use of video/audio. You will also have the opportunity to use online learning technologies to develop your skills.

How will I know how well I am doing?
You will follow an individual learning plan which will track your achievements.

Will I need to do extra work at home?
You are expected to make use of the skills learnt in college at home and out in the community.

What will I need to provide?
You should money for lunch or a drink and wear appropriate clothing.

Are there any other costs?
Occasional funds will be needed for outings or events. Plus an additional £2.50 to cover the cost of ingredients.
