What qualification/level is this course
Pre-entry and Entry level through to Level 1.

Who is this course for?
This course is for young people and adults aged 19+ with learning disabilities and/or Autism.

What can I expect to Learn?
Participants will learn about the benefits of gardening for physical and mental health. Activities with include planting and caring for seeds and plants, exploring different types of plants and their needs, engaging in sensory experiences through touching and smelling plants, practicing fine motor skills through activities like digging and watering.

How will I learn?
Your tutor will use a number of different teaching methods to develop your skills. These will include a wide range of authentic materials, individual study, working in pairs/group activities and will include the use of video/audio.

How will I know how well I am doing?
You will follow your own individual learning plan with progress recorded by tutors and yourself. Feedback will also be given to you during the lesson..

Will I need to do extra work at home?
You will be encouraged to use the skills you have learnt in the class at home.

What will I need to provide?
You should bring a file, paper, pen and plastic wallets to the session

Are there any other costs?
Guidance and advice will be given on an individual basis throughout the course. We can also provide information about suitable progression routes.
