Are you looking to start a career in the hair and beauty sector? This course will help you develop essential beauty skills, including hair and skincare, makeup application and nail treatments. You will gain hands?on practical experience alongside industry knowledge to prepare you for employment as a beauty specialist and begin your professional journey. As part of the course, you will be referred to ECL for additional support with finding employment or exploring progression opportunities.

What Will Happen At My First Lesson
The first week of your course will include Study Skills. Good Study Skills are vital to ensure you gain the best from your course. The Study Skills session will give you the opportunity to discover the best way that you can learn and fully understand the requirements of the course.

Qualification Aim/Level
Entry level 3 and Level 1 only.

Who is this course for?
This course is for young people and adults aged 19+ with learning disabilities and/or Autism looking to move into employment.

What can I expect to Learn?
You will learn essential beauty techniques, including hair and skincare, makeup and nail treatments. Gain hands-on experience and industry knowledge.

How will I learn?
Your tutor will use a number of different teaching methods to develop your skills. These will include a wide range of authentic materials, individual study, working in pairs/group activities and will include the use of video/audio.

How will I know how well I am doing?
You will have a negotiated individual learning planwhich will record your progress each week. Feedback will also be given during the lesson.

Will I need to do extra work at home?
You will be encouraged to use your news skills at home and in the workplace

What will I need to provide?
Please bring paper, pen and a folder to keep your work organised, you will need to wear appropriate clothing.

Are there any other costs?
Occasional funds will be needed for outings or events.

You can progress on to other courses. Your tutor will advise as to which is the most suitable.
