This pre-qualification Digital course is designed for beginners with little or no previous IT experience. You will learn how to operate digital equipment correctly and safely, while building confidence in using these skills for everyday purposes. The course will introduce you to key applications such as Windows 11 and the internet, helping you to complete basic tasks and develop essential digital skills. You will also learn how to stay safe online and understand how to avoid potential internet risks.

Who is this course for?
Young people and adults aged 19+ with learning disabilities and/or Autism with little or no previous IT experience.
What can I expect to Learn?
You will learn how to operate digital equipment correctly and safely, while building confidence in using these skills for everyday purposes. The course will introduce you to key applications such as Windows 11 and the internet, helping you to complete basic tasks and develop essential digital skills. You will also learn how to stay safe online and understand how to avoid potential internet risks.
How will I learn?
Your tutor will use a number of different teaching methods to develop your skills. These will include a wide range of authentic materials, individual study, working in pairs/group activities and will include the use of video/audio. You will also have the opportunity to use online learning technologies to develop your skills.
How will I know how well I am doing?
You will follow an individual learning plan which will track your achievements.
Will I need to do extra work at home?
You are expected to make use of the skills learnt in college at home and out in the community.
What will I need to provide?
You should money for lunch or a drink and wear appropriate clothing.
Are there any other costs?
Occasional funds will be needed for outings or events.
